Part of our mission at the Land Bank is to offer affordable homeownership opportunities in Kalamazoo. We offer a variety of homes – some newly renovated and some that require investment. Whether you’re looking to invest in a renovation, or looking for a turn-key home, find out more about the availability and requirements by contacting the Land Bank, or search for properties here.
At no cost to you, the Land Bank is offering a unique opportunity to adopt vacant properties to maintain as your own. The possibilities are endless; whether you adopt the property to grow a vegetable garden, plant trees, make a pocket park or play area for kids, you and your neighbors will benefit! Find out more by contacting the Property Coordinator at 216-762-6191, or find the application here.
For other resources available to community gardens, visit the Common Ground Kalamazoo website.
Homeowners in the City of Kalamazoo with vacant Land Bank property adjacent on either side of their home will be eligible to purchase property for $20 plus minimal administration fees to expand their lot. Applicants that show plans for gardening or other improvements for the property will be given first priority. There are income eligibility requirements for some lots. The Land Bank Property Coordinator can provide information on requirements of this program. Find the application here.
